This guy arrived yesterday:

Walrus Audio Phoenix, can power up to 15 pedals.

Can continue construction of my new pedalboard now, which will have a tier on the back which will have to be built around the power supply

It's just so... pleasing.

I want to just leave it on my desk as a piece of desk art. Or like an anatomical model of what guitar wiring *should* look like haha

that' build is rather impressive^

Here's my 2003 SG with RS Kit - it might be called the Headhunter or Hillbillly something. a signature set they did. I thought there were PIO but maybe not,. Not sure who last soldered this, two people have been in it but you can see the massive contrast to the Emerson factory solder science HAHAHA. What fun!

Yeah. This is what the Emerson kit is replacing

After like 4 months my sweetwater/behringer firesale order finally arrived. Plan on really only using them as recording pedals, although I already might put the compressor on the board as an always on type of thing.

I like the Behringer Super Fuzz (for $28 it's great) and I have the HM300 Heavy Metal (Boss HM-2 clone, it's a little bit too trebly but also $28, so...)

What is the Ultra Metal, is it a Metal Zone clone? I'd buy a Boss Metal Zone but it's hard to find a cheap used one. They used to be $20-$30 used, now they're almost the same price as a new one when you add in postage.

James1214

Exactly, the ultrametal is a MT2 clone

Have they regained popularity?  Many of FB pedalboard groups view the Metal Zone unfavorably. I always liked them but you had to spend some time tweaking the eq.

Prices on used gear are up, even for used Boss and DOD pedals.

Are they really going for $800?

The MIJ ones with black labels and silver screws. They have the mojo.

I long term borrowed a heavy metal pedal once 30 years ago.

I got 2 dod death metal pedals. Only one works.

I replaced my Boss FZ-2 in my pedalboard with an orange Behringer SF300.  Now it looks like I have one of those shitty DS-1 distortions.

If not mistaken those were hard (impossible) to get back in the day, maybe thinking of another pedal.

I had an MT-2 but couldn't make it work with my setup at the time, so I got a RAT and voĆla! Sold both, probably should have kept the RAT. Looking at a clone to replace it. Weird, because I need it less now that I did then but if I can get an amazing clone then...

Danny G

I could prolly build you a Rat clone

Thanks! I've got my eye on the Blammo! Shrew but not sure if I've heard a nasty enoughy clip. But I like the gate and clip options. My 90's RAT was snarlier if I recall.

Danny G

No prob!

I also realized once I hit *reply* that I've never owned a Rat and don't have a frame of reference to compare a clone to. Haha oops

I've got a 1981DRV which is supposed to be a RAT clone but I don think it sounds like one.  It pretty much just sits there.  Cool looking though.  I use my crazy super cool one with the motorized faders on my Marshall and a MR. Black Super Extra Five Thousand on my HIWATT.
