Which ones do you like?

We went to this one and it was great.  Sabor A Cafe Colombian Restaurant.  I got bandeja paisa, which was that recipe for beans from the recipe thread.

This video shows that dish but not enough of their food.

I think what morty is saying is that he doesn't really like "restaurants", he eats at dive bars.  This here's a restaurant thread.
The hot chick in the kitchen at the Colombian place is not observing health regulations what with her hair down and her arm pits exposed.  Why do some of those hot Latinas have those gruff voices?  If she was my wife I would maker her change her name to Carnita and I would have her voice surgically altered to be more feminine.

Some of my favorite places in and around Portland.

Tasty and Sons.  The guy in the video is a dipshit.  the restaurant is in a hub type building with a bunch of other business and restaurants.  In the video right before they go in to the left is Chop Salumeria.  Super awesome charcuterie.

Toro Bravo.  Tapas,tapas,tapas.  Hells yes!

Interurban.  One of my favorite bars that coincidentally does rad food.

The Woodsman Tavern.

Ox.  MEAT

Nuestra Cocina.  We always sit at the chefs counter.

Lapellah.  I have a job here any time I want it. Chef/owner is great guy

Fishwife.  Kinda nondescript but oh man the seafood is so so so fresh and awesome.

Ya Hala.  Killer Lebanese

There are so many more

I've eaten at Tasty and Sons and The Woodsman.  Both are money.  We had brunch at Tasty and Sons and everything had an egg on it.  We had the seafood platter with a really nice bottle of champagne and some really good beer at The Woodsman.  I'm also a fan of Dot's Cafe and Le Pigeon.  Potland is a bad-ass food city.

Chicago:  L2O, Avec, and Blackbird.

Austin: Uchi, Fonda San Miguel, Louie Muellers, Torchy's.

San Francisco:  French Laundry, Boulevard, Betelnut, Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty

Charlotte:  Soul, Barrington's, Lang Van, Bistro La Bon, Block and Grinder, Midwood Smokehouse.

Asheville: Curate, The Admiral, The Yacht Club.

These are a few of my favorite things...

I've never been to the French Laundry and I have the nerve to call myself  a foodie.

It was quite an experience.  My wife and I went there on our honeymoon in 2002.  I still remember almost every course.

I would probably not go there again but if I lived out there I would eat at Bouchon once a month.

Did you know that Thomas Keller does not ever use celery?  Completely omitts it from a mir poix

I did not know that.  Does he not like it personally?  Kind of weird to not put celery in a stock.

Says it makes stocks and dishes bitter.  I've recently been braising it as a main ingredient to a side.  I love celery in all it's forms.  There are people that think cilantro is soapy.  Tastes nothing like soap to me.  I go through at least a bunch a week.

I used to work for a guy that did braised celery.  He would peel it, then tie it, sear it and then braise it in white wine and chicken stock.

I think it definitely has a place.  I think you would miss it if it wasn't in a stock.

that is a genetic condition, ....if you had a certain gene, it would taste like soap to you.

If you're looking for a lot of fussy rules and regulations they have that at The Obelisk. You have to read a 7 page FAQ to even visit.

Here  you can make your own rules, like when your White Relative slave owners populated the West, to escape conscription in the Confederate army.

my white relative slave owners stuck it out in Sullivan Illinois with the rest of you uni-toothed flatlanders. back then the only restaurant I can recall was mickey D's and I think ya had to drive to Decatur for that.
now theres probably a nearby olive garden...progress.

yeah man, when someone asks for a list of any kind, some parameters are necessary...as a troo scientist farmer you should feel similarly..i am beginning to question your scientific methods. >:(

Seattle has awesome restaurants like Ivars or The Spaghetti Factory.
I think it was youngstown where I asked somone where some restuaurants were and they said oh we got lots..long john silvers, outback Jacks, wendys...

Next up, sticking with the theme, is Pueblito Viejo which is another one of our many Columbian choices.

They have a good looking appetizer menu, and a fine looking hen Sanchocho

This place is all nuts inside, the Columbians never know when to stop.

MadJohnShaft

Pueblito Viejo was more fun inside but didn't have the focus on the food that Sabor A Cafe has - this is more like a place to sit at long tables and dance the night away, we went there early and the food is more like greasy bar drinking food to fuel your columbian dancing

who'd you get to take the picture?

the gnome:

looks fancy, but they have a bar section with booths that is pretty laid back. and they have a huge tap selection, along with a damn good selection of spirits.

this place is ok, but they have one of the most intense burgers you will ever experience.

You've got to try it to be a believer. We
cover our burger with peanut butter, a little
mayo, pepper jack cheese, bacon, and a
few pickles – just like Mom used to make!

seriously, eating this thing is bizarre trip into completely hedonistic fat, oil and meat consumption.... but amazingly good.
