A wooly man without a face, or a beast without a name.

The Shocker

I got some guitars back from Jake & have been playing the shit out of them, but it turns out that the Ampeg AMG100 I got in a trade from taylo)))r is still my favorite. Just an all out rock machine with the best neck ever.

Still have high hopes for the Jag...

Jake

That was my black Ampeg fiddle for many years. I can confirm it's bona fide rock machine status.

The Shocker

Damn, not sure if I knew that. It's had much Bandit/Hooper love then.

I am the difficult brown.

Jake

And one of the best parts is/was the big ass Mr. Zog's Sex Wax sticker on the case. Always made me think of the masterpiece, Point Break.

I wish people cared enough about our band to want to take pictures.

You have to ask someone to use your camera. You could take the photos yourself, but you're busy. Ask a friend or girlfriend, then take the pics into Photoshop and fix them.

Shocker you have a Jaguar? I am trying to unload my three less-than-$100 clunkers and maybe parlay my stash into a Squier Jaguar or Jazzmaster.

What's the differences between a Jaguar and Jazzmaster?

Jake

Biggest differences would be the pickups and the scale length, for sure.
poop.

The Shocker

Yeah, i have a Squier Jag. Currently at Jake's for setup and mods. Maybe he'll chime in on quality.

I had a Jazzmaster, but I have smallish hands. Much prefer shorter scale guitars.

Squier is meh. Needed fret dressing, a little neck work...

You liked the Jazz. Quality on Squiers is good for the money, but variable.

Any guitar might need that though.

Jaguars are punchy and "tin machines" (trebly, metallic) my friend said (correct ?) Jazzmasters are chimey and sweeter?

Shocker, don't you have the Squier J.Mascis Jazzmaster too?

I had some cool Mr zogs shirts back in the day. Great marketing strategy by those guys. As a kid it was always intriguing

Sold it to Xayk.  That was back during my gear mania period.  It was a nice guitar.  Jake made a youtube video of it.  It needed fret dressing too if my memory is correct.  I will say that the Squier single coils are pretty noise free.

VOLVO)))

That was a wicked nice guitar. Also, that tuning is the proper way to swing some pussy if you have an acoustic and no dignity.

I bought the Squier VI a few weeks ago. I'm in love with it.

Sweet!

Jake

This thread is starting to really feed my need to build my next guitar. A hybrid Jazzmaster/Jaguar with a 25.5" scale, WRHB pups, and a Tele pup between the bridge and the fixed trem plate.

poop.

The Shocker

Looks badass.  Like the pickup behind the bridge.

Sweet!

That's a pretty twisted idea—Kim Thayil will probably be drooling, as well.
Livin' The Life.

That guitar idea is hottt, and is relevant to my interests.
