Naw. I love your speaker combo. I think you're right in suspecting your overdrive as a contributing factor so I'd experiment with dirt boxes. It's a usually pretty cheap way to squeeze a mess of new sounds out of your amp. If you don't find anything you like, then think about selling it.

FWIW, I had a Way Huge Swollen Pickle in front of my 800, and it sounded nothing like GnR.

Yeah get a different drive rather than changing amps. OCD is super transparent so get something not transparent.

I totally <3 my MXR distortion III. hey are cheap and have a good amount of boost to the output knob without dialing in the distortion...and then there's the distortion.
