Congratulations Danny! SXSW is an ideal gig for Ocean of Stars, and it will be easy to get there, too ;)

Thanks Lumpy \m/,

Am already excited to finally have a band to play this music, and having a very tangible sense of momentum is def an added bonus!

The Dunwich pedal tourbox finally made it's way to me.

Seeing as how I hadn't yet begun any new soul crushing DIY home repair projects yet, I'll just be holing up with these babies and making demo clips all weekend.

^ nice!

I'm not sure about new Gibsons but $499 isn't much for a US made guitar. All of these look great aside from the cherry.

I need it. It's absolutely unreasonable but I want a tele since I was 13 and had no experience with any kind of guitars (or any other instruments).

^ So this would be your first guitar? Can you find a used one for cheaper? I've been seeing more heavy rock and metal bands using Teles lately.

The EQ knobs on my Carvin are extremely sensitive and at higher volumes the low end flubs out very fast even when the bass is turned way down. Eminence Swamp Thangs shouldn't distort that fast, I think it's the way the EQ interacts with the power amp section. I've got the tone dialed in perfectly for somewhat lower but still loud enough to wake up a house full of people volume levels. My ears are singing bad noise worse than usual.

edit: turns out it was made from a combo. I actually think that's pretty awesome. Dude did a damn good job.

Oh I see, read your post wrong. Personally I have no interest in Teles but one of my roommates had one and it sounded pretty damn heavy with whatever pedal his was using. Also, Pallbearer.

I have a squier classic vibe 60s tele that I don't use. Got anything to trade?

You wanna try different tunings & chord voicings?

This site is pretty damn good.

There's a whole lot you can get for free, so I haven't signed up; just plundering the available info. The list of tunings & chord shapes within those tunings is quite extensive.

As I live in eastern Europe any trades may be difficult :D But thanks for your proposition.

Finally got sick enough of not having an active project that I posted a craigslist ad.

Now I have 5 potential nutcases and/or bandmates to call back.
