Some people like sold core for it's alleged sonic properties, either is fine if done properly. It's also easier to put bends in solid wire, without doing loom weaving.

Here's some spam from myself.

First up a Super Big Muff for a client that wanted the best of the Bluebeard Fuzz with all the extras of the Musket and a few more of my own:



Guts are a little messy but I didn't want to design a new board for a one off as it would jack up the price way too much.



This one's an Echo Base delay build, I like this so much that I kept two for myself one of which is getting a balanced XLR out once I get time to do it.



Can't find a gutshot of this but it's more along the lines of how clean my builds usually are. Will put one up later.

and this one's a Triangle Muff build with a flat mids switch, I put a switch on all my muff builds for guitar, makes such a huge difference.

i feel this, i get a lot of one offs and making new boards sucks for them. try to do it on turrets to mitigate this but a muff is large so its not easily done in a smaller enclosure

I'd love to see you do that pedal on turret board, even then it would get messy really fast with the six pots and three switches. Possibly doable in a D size enclosure though...

1590DD yea that would probably work on like a 1.5" x 7" board or so. What else you got on that circuit in general. I think I have seen the bluebeard fuzz before but not with extras.

I used to know the proper way to lace a wiring harness, one thing I wish I could still remember properly, maybe it's like knitting and I'd pick it up again.

Nice, I like the idea of scotch brite or brushed aluminum finish with a piece of veneer. Would also be cool with other types of thin materials like Formica laminate. The weirder, the better.

The challenge is adding a switchable LPB1, an input cap blend, mids pot, tone bypass switch and making it all fit in a 1590BB.

I'm actually using left over cut offs from a local luthier which is good for the rainforests.

Creepy did the straight up muff in a 1590BB so it's defo doable, maybe a separate daughter board for the LPB1 like I did?

I saw the CF Big Muff for sale on the DAM forum so it won't be there any more. Koi posted a point to point above though.

Here's another of my builds, cross between my Tall Font Muff and a friend's B&M Fuzz Unit. I call it the Dobsky Fuzz Unit:








This is my blurb for it:

"The DOBSKY FUZZ UNIT is my cross between the Tall Font/Civil War Russian Big Muffs and the B&M Fuzz Unit. Controls are Volume, Fuzz, Tone and Mids with two clipping diode switches, first one lifts the first set of diodes which brings in some clean bass to the signal, second one switches between standard silicon and 3mm red leds, the leds give a huge volume boost without getting too much dirtier, great for pushing your amp. Great for bass and guitar. Much much better fuzz than the recent EHX Bass Big Muff imo."
