I'd like to have something studio quality done in the last year to post but instead I'll post three tracks all worked on in the last month but finished in the last couple of weeks. From newest to oldest.

These are really good. Any plans to put vocals to them?

These were recorded a year ago but we just put this up.  New stuff in progress.

that is great!  looking forward to the new stuff. favorited for further exploration. what is your signal chain?  I am guessing that awesome looking Orange OR 120 in the pic and a fuzz pedal of some type, maybe and SG ;)

Here is my newest recording, I record a song every other week or so, cant mike amps cause its toooo loud for my quiet apartment tho, I used the Black Arts Pharaoh for all guitar work:

Thanks! That OR120 is used in tandem with an Acoustic amp for bass.  We all collect gear together and use it with this project and other bands in the past. You are right about the sg, the tone is all the amp though.  Just boosted with a clean boost pedal.  My rig is in the "show your rig" thread

Yeah. Right now I just demo all the time as a way to remember song ideas and I usually end up leaving a bunch of blank verse space thinking there would be vocals at some point.

That's the one barrier I have with recording at home. Yelling into a mic to track vocals is difficult to do most of the time.

sounds awesome man!  I was just guessing, I was not for sure about stuff, I see your pic below, so you sold the OR120?  what kind of amp is it you are using now?  great taste in gear and talent! huge sound for a 3 piece band or any band, been listening to it nonstop since I found it yesterday :)

Amps.  Matamp was purchased from Lippy on the 'ol stonerrock page.  Cab on the left is my fave. 70s orange broken in.

Cursed71

Thanks for the kind words!  We still have the OR120.  Our drummer owns it, he collects old cabs and leslies and hammonds and stuff too.  I currently use a Matamp Gt120, and recorded with that and an old ampeg solid-state combo.

Nope.  Im a different old guy, used to go by bromat79.

Seriously awesome stuff everyone, fallen i love the guitar tone there what did you use/how did you record that? :)
DooM!

Thanks for bumping this thread. Reminds me I have to get motivated to finish a couple of songs I have in the beginning stages.

For demo recording I patch a A-D box in between my pedal board and amp. I use the amp only as a monitor to eliminate any latency during recording.

The recorded sound is just pure guitar and pedal board with a modeled Fender Twin.

The theory is that if there are keeper guitar tracks that I want recorded properly I can always run the dry recorded signal out through a reamp box and back into an amp in the studio that can be miced up properly at full volume.

Theres a lot of cool shit in this thread.  Thought I'd post my bands as good as its going to get recordings in a practice studio as we felt we had to post something before anyone would book us for a show.  Only 2 tracks up but any feedback welcome.

This is one we made a quick click track to for recording purposes.  Will be recording it properly soon enough with vocals and real drums/amps...etc.

I feel this thread needs a bump.

Here's something I've been working on. Not going to be the final structure though. It might not be d00my enough for some of you, only drop D with old, light strings.

Also it's pretty messy and rough.

Sounded a bit like Zep to me, mind you I'm in the kitchen washing dishes.

Thanks dogfood :)  I just went to "Zepfest" to see a zep coverband two weeks ago and wore my zepp shirt; I have listened a ton to all their albums, I am gonna see their movie hopefully soon  ;D

I wouldn't call it a "song" per say, but here is a quick jam that we had last time

Just started working on this yesterday with a friend of mine. We just finished messing with it a bit and writing the middle part. Going for a kind of Isis/Neurosis/Zozobra/Cave In style vibe. Heavy, but layered and kind of a spacey. Still a work in progress.

I don't think so, but it does have a similar interval in it. In reverse order I think, though. I think Orion goes up and this one goes down. I didn't write that riff though, the guitarist did and I don't think he's familiar with any Metallica. I grew up on them of course, but Master of Puppets is my least heard album from them (of the old stuff), Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning were my favorites. I haven't listened to either of those in a long time either though.

Not me, but band I tech for, said I'd plug them wherever, used some of my amp collection for recording: http://sonance.bandcamp.com/album/like-ghosts
