Irbass, what did you think of that Straight Outta Compton?

I really dug it......I didn't realize that it's Ice Cube's real son playing pops. I thought more and more about this film after watching it, so that means I really dug it. They really don't leave much out either....I don't want to spoil anything, but it is a really good music biopic....check it out.

One of the better films I've seen lately

Instant Dan

Saw this at the theatre last night. Probably one of the better Creepshow anthology films I have seen. Almost better than VHS for me.

Im checking on this tomorrow..looked promising.

Saw this Friday matinee..

I loved it, though it was slow until the midway/final act. Judging form the 6-7 kids sitting a few rows behind me, the "kids" will not like this. It's a slow burner that goes more for authenticity and story telling. Something sadly missing in today's cinema. By "horror" standards these days, the gore is relatively nil, the jumps just don't exist (which is a good thing), it's the overall feel and atmospheres and the overused descrip; overwhelming feel of dread. It's effective, and it's damn near perfect within the genre imo. If you like big robot movies, you will more than likely leave half way

Dunedin

Frank- loosely based on UK comic/musician Frank Sidebottom. This film hit me hard; deals with issues such as mentall illness, the pursuit of fame, suicide and has a (in places) breathtaking soundtrack. Michael Fassbender doesnt show his face for 90% of the film and its very poignant when he finally does.

Exit Through the Gift Shop- documentary or one big Banksy spoof? Who knows, but I enjoyed it.

This is a fantastic film, if you get to the bones of the story (purgatory, chances..etc etc) and as it is hokey at times, it makes up for in uniqueness and imaginative spin on the genre. It's like the best that someone like Barker/King could've written (but haven't)

8/10 for me..and I read post viewing that it gets better with more watches, as you pick up on more of the "tells". Good stuff

Just watched Spotlight - it's out on Redbox now. Holy shit. <---unintended pun(?) metaphor(?) Stunning.
We didn't come here for economic politics or religious bickering, we came to rock.

Dunedin

Trollhunter; It's Norwegian, subtitled and filmed in a Blair Witch style. But it has it's tongue firmly in it's cheek throughout much of the film. Well worth a watch, and the scenery is stunning.

Black Mass was great. Recently watched the Walk, also great.
I ain't drunk - I'm just drinkin...

Spy - Jason Staham was hilarious.
