So we saw man of Steel. It's the best of the superhero movies. Hands down, isn't even close. That movie smokes all superhero movies.

Saw Hunger Games II this afternoon. It was pretty good, maybe a bit overlong but everything was good and better than the first one. We came out and saw that Don Jon was just gonna start so we quickly went in for that. I thought it was entertaining and saying a bunchful of truths that you wouldn't necessarily expect or even hear in a film. No masterpiece but for a first movie? Color me impressed.

You snuck into a second movie for free?

I saw Hunger Games. If you like J Law you are in luck. I liked it a lot. Line to get in.  XD screen - I love that XD screen and we got our favorite seats. not in 3D although a 3D underwater J Law...

The kid in the lobby couldn't make an Old Fashioned so he made a big plastic cup of whiskey on ice with oranges and a short of sprite. Fantastic.  $10.50.

$65 for the experience.

Yes, second movie was free. We know how to play.

I was glad there was no 3D version, that shit's lame most of the times anyway.

Good movie, one of the better ones I saw this year. Sam Rockwell is great but the whole cast is cool (nice asshole-turn by Carrell).

Edit: And a UFO-song on the soundtrack, thats probably a first.

Youngblood from No Place To Run. Not necessarly my first choice but at least an indication that the tracks weren't compiled by Genius.

The Shocker

Would never have guessed that one.

I rented this because i'm a huge fan of both Giamatti and Rudd. Basically, It's about a guy who gets released from prison and decides to go straight in order to meet his estranged daughter. In order to stay that way and to earn money, he hooks with an old friend selling Christmas trees. His hope is to earn enough money to buy her a piano and that she will eventually forgive him. It was a little slow, but overall it was a solid watch.

The Intochables

French film, quite good actually. Based on the true story of a street hustler becoming an aide to a wealthy quadriplegic.

Not much to say about this Greek film. It apparently garnered some critical acclaim, but I only watched it because I was horny bored. They used a great amount of atmosphere and silence that was reminiscent of the cinematography/art styling of movies like Crash (and many others that pulled that nonsense). I find the whole "connected but disconnected"/"removed from society whilst in the middle of the city" thing kind of lame.

The main actress, Ariane Labed, was gorgeous. Her bushy curls drove me crazy.

Watch it. See if I care.

Yeah, watched it too.  Makes you wonder how many other good to great bands are still undiscovered.

Mud.  Really good flick, much better than I thought it would be.

Really kinda shocking for its time.  The scene where she admits killing the boy is chilling.  And then at the end, all the characters are introduced and they come out and smile as if on stage.

My kid watched The Bad Seed recently so now we got that.

Lame. They never built up the characters enough for me to care. They wanted it to be deep and moving. All I wanted was it to be over.
