scalloped frets

anyone ever actually play a guitar or bass that had scallops??
what does it feel like? the billy sheehan bass looks cool.

String tension stays the same, so it's not going to be any 'bendier' than an unscalloped neck. The rationale behind the Yngwie scalloped neck models is that when your fingertips touch the neck, that really slows you down maaan. Jake scalloped the top frets on a Squier guitar for me, and from my standpoint, there's no difference (I'm not a shredder or a tapper, to say the least). It doesn't feel any different to me. It doesn't play any differently to me.

Those Billy Sheehan basses look cool, but get the version that has two outputs (one for each pickup). Run them to different amps, different stompboxes etc. Cool!

I think that's what he's playing in the pic (the well for the jacks is double-wide, look) but he's only sending one signal - maybe even he doesn't find two outputs useful. But there's like a 'pro' version and a "jr." version of those basses.
