Does anyone own a Sovtek MIG 50?

They look like a decent amp. I was thinking of picking one up.

What do you guys think?

I used to own one, and I loved it. It sounded a lot like a Marshall JCM800.  I traded my MIG 50 (plus cash) to a friend for his 100 watt JCM800, which I have since traded on up.

I still wish I had the MIG 50. It was cool and should be a good price.

Never used one myself, but have also never heard a Sovtek owner not be pleased \m/,

just like dave j-
had one, traded it, miss it. sounded just like a jcm800.
i played against my other guitar player at the time, he had a 100 watt jcm800 and the biggest difference in sound between us was that he sounded more compressed, but i sounded crunchier, in a good way. we were both using amp distortion only.
dang i miss that guy.
why does it hurt when i pee?

I had one. Sold it, because it rarely saw use. I really would wonder about reliably as a primary. Take a backup to shows.

It's sound was fine.  Good, but not stellar. If the price is $500 (I didn't pay or sell for even close to that) ... pass.  Plenty out there for less that's just as good.
Vinyls.   deal.

this makes me curious...

NEW, 'original specs', but with 'better components', jacks, pots, etc. so no issues with aged components, under warranty...
from $575 on reverb.

That looks like it would be fun to play.

Kind of mutually exclusive, same spec, or higher spec, choose one. Bet the transformers aren't as good, they had crazy Russian C-core jobs in the ones I've been in, and that is where the magic in them is.
