Signal chain order suggestions

So I've added a TS-808 clone to my board as a solo boost.

So, where's the best place in my signal chain for it?

As it stands, current setup: Wah, tuner, Blues Driver, Phase 90, tremolo, TS-808

Fine where it is, or is there a better place for it?

Hey Danny,

That is probably the best place for it. I like to have my screamer right after my wah but ahead of my phase 90 barring that I think you got the best place for it.

Yeah, it's working fine as is I just haven't had a chance to really move it around and try shit.

Blues Driver is main dirt and I like the phase 90 after it as well.

Just need to build myself a longer pedalboard now to house the extra stomp box haha. Real estate is getting a little crowded and keep hitting the wrong shit...

I always thought your distortion/overdrive pedals were supposed to be the first thing your guitar went into. someone once told me you want to distort your wah, not wah your distortion. seemed to make sense but im curious what the rule of thumb is..

Kinda depends on the roll it is playing in rig and what else is in the chain. My rig is mostly different ODs and fuzz. I love how my FZ-2 sputters when my od808 his it, but it doesn't react quite the same with other ODs.
It also livens up my wha, I prefer to use to boost the wha even though it has a built in boost. I works best for me to have it after the wha. OD808 paired with OCD with a buffered pedal like the FZ-2 in between makes other awesome sounds. Many other folks use it more like it itself is a stage of gain in the amp and have it last in the chain and always on. What ever sounds good to you and servers your sonic needs is right.

I had been tweaking my Wah for years trying to get it to sound a certain way. Never came close and it just sounded weird.

Finally out of curiosity, I moved it from the back of my chain (left-footed on Wah) to the front.

Whoah! Problem solved. THAT'S how I was trying to get it to sound haha

Me too, I like working the wah with my Left foot as well. It looks more natural that way too, not as awkward of a stance.

good point morty.
corksniffers will pontificate a ONE TRUE WAY, but i think your own personal preference is most relevant.

i.e., do you want to distort wah or send distorted to wah, verb an overdriven tone or overdrive the verbed tone?
your choice. effects loops help optimize the options. experiment. find your own soud.

this coming from a guy that has used tons of effects for like 20 years and goes straight guitar/amp now.
