I know it's common but I'd like opinions from here. Thinking of pulling the trigger on eBay.

Instant Dan

Wino swore by them for many years and so many other guitar players, I have to imagine it is a winning combo.

RAGER

Many more than just wino have done righteous with the Sd Lester combo. I prefer the t tops cuz that's what my old clunkers came with.

It's a little hot if you play with a ton of pedal/amp distortion and want a 'nice' smooth tone but otherwise a good pup. Can push regular fuzz pedals into mega fuzz territory.

T-Tops are a reference to weird print markings in the plastic on the pickups themselves.

Like a little T with a circle around them. Have always heard good things about them tho have never used

Also, T Tops were the second gen Gibson Humbucker Pickup.  Yes, all capitals.  First Gen Patent Applied For's were the hugely varying, sometimes great, sometimes not, then Gibson decided to make a humbucker that was very, very, consistent.  This humbucker was the T Top.  Alnico 5 magnet + lower wire winds = cleaner meaner sound.  New Gibsons from the early mid 60's to the 80's were stock with T Tops.  I've been listening to Bowie at the BBC and I'd bet my ass Ronson is playing T Tops.  James Williamson, Raw Power = T Tops.
