hahaha, when you make a biden comment as a way to give me some negative feedback on a channel whos content is not remotely political, that is some shit right there. no its not a cult at all.

I didn't intend to suddenly acquire a bunch of new knives but sometimes things just happen.

This is the one I really like and was shopping for. Milk St was advertising these but they were $70 or more so I bought the Misen thinking it was bigger than a paring knife. It really isn't. But it as only $40 and is a nice knife. This kiji is a nice size at 8 3/4"

This Misen is nice but it's just a little bigger than a 7" paring.

These Kyoceras came up often while searching. Both steel and ceramic. Kellie got these free from her work as some promotional thing from Uline. They're super sharp but only for slicing I think. Never had ceramic blades before.

How the internet works.

I was looking at the Kitchin Kiji. Deemed it unnecessary at that price and bought the Misen. The Kiji popped up on Kellie's feed with a deal at $30. She thought I'd like it and bought it. We never talked about it then two ones show up. Fuck.

side tidbit -there used to be a Kyocera location, some kinda factory, in East Vancouver/Camus? area. somewhere out your way. Ceramic high tech, some kind of electronics.

Still there I think. It's across from an Asian store, Mexican store and Russian store I go to.

nice variety

Shipped and tax on the Kiji makes it $52 for me.  I'm sure it's worth it, but i have plenty of kitchen knives, and I'm a fan of finding carbon knives at flea markets for a few bucks and refurbishing them.  I'ma apprehensively pass.
Vinyls.   deal.

A couple weeks ago New Seasons had a sale on halibut. Something silly like 8 or 9 bucks a pound but you had to buy a whole fish though and I don't have the room since I've already committed to a socket salmon share. But they had a bunch of the collars and trim so I picked up a big bag of those and some coho collars. I was in there today and mentioned that. Fishmonger dude hooked me up with some ling cod collars and the spine of probably a 15 pounder gratis. Fun stuff to play with.

Sweet. I like collars. My family isn't into salmon.

This cutting board is 20"x15"

I froze the collar for later. The bones I roasted and got near a pound of meat. I'm gonna make nam phrik narok.

RAGER

It's like a crunch drier version of nam phrik pao but spicier.

oh thanks. I ended up with two cases and still have a long ways to go!
Last time, well everytime, I can't waste the tunawater down the drain...I put it in noodle broth. What do you do with yours? I guess I could put in pasta sauce or something.

RAGER

Attn Muffin and or maybe Pissy. The Mala Market has Caiziyou on sale. I bought two of the normally $16 bottles for $10. This is the stuff for that real Szechuan flavor if you're making chili oil or crisp as the dumb diktokkers call it.

Also great for stir frying using half caiziyou and half pork lard. Yum.

RAGER, thanks for the headsup. Just pulled my bottle out of the pantry (dark/cool) best use by 2021/8. Still looks golden! I've got grillin' to do so....will it be okay?

I've got some slice pork belly,..could stir fry some thighs. Doing a whole bird on the grill (I think)
