Finish is in good nick. Frets are... junk. I'm gonna try to salvage them, if not, I'll probably drop the cash to buy legit refret tools, instead of using my home-brew shit.

Electronics should be interesting. I know a guy local, who owes me a favor, who has a Ripper, that I can use as "period accurate" reference material.

Your Les Paul is one depressing clusterfuck. Good news, I found some suitable mahogany. Bad news, I'm kinda scared to do it, haha. Fucking epoxy made it so I have to do a full splice, and I'm a little shaky on doing the fretboard undercut. You see how good my headstock repairs turn out, I'm sure I'll be okay..

I do crafty fun shit. I just don't have any guitars that are broken and serviceable. Closest thing is my G&L El Toro, that has a twist in the neck. I got to send it to the warpedneck.com dude.
My '75 jazz needs a refret and a refinish though. Maybe I should dive in.

Lately, my hobby has been turntable refurbishing. Get em cheap, and make em shine.

I have that Stew-Mac kit, nippers, files, epoxy hammer, and that fret rocker. I'd need fret wire, and the neck is bound, making things a bit more time consuming. I'd rather not mess with the finish, it's way too yellow-y awesome.

The finish on the body, is a rattle can job. The whole guitar sticks to the inside if the case like goo. I think it sat underneath some bayou house's porch for 10 years, after the Krylon was applied. Electronics were shot, threw some DiMarzio Model J's in it and it sounds good now, but if I took it in to have it set up, dude would hand it back to me and tell me it needs to be refretted.
