I have a Morley Rotary volume wah in good shape that i'm looking to trade.

I wondered about that. How do you get the ones where the etched parts are black? Is that a stain added after, or is it some kind of layered plate, like etching the copper off a PCB?

For this you etch, then (spray) paint the whole thing, let it dry, then sand with a sanding block so you're only sanding the non etched part. The next step of course is reverse etching which is cool as fuck imo.
