probably figured out that they will have to repopulate the earth . I bet in the winter he had the "talk" basically telling Carl how to get the job done . Plus how old is he now ? In a post apocalyptic world he should already be knockin boots

Don't know if this has been discussed yet but is there a trademark or some shit on the word "zombie"?  Are we going under the pretense that these people have never pondered what if the dead came back to life?  In their society was there never this imagined concept?  does the word zombie not exist.  It's like that movie "The Mist".  Nobody ever says the word "fog".  nobody ever says there is a mist rolling in in normal life.  They say there's a fog rolling in.

Maybe that's Darabont's doing with the not calling the "walkers" zombies? As RAGER mentioned, he also was behind The Mist, so maybe he didn't want allusions to other franchises and/or movies like "Night of the Living Dead" or, in "The Mist"'s case, Carpenter's "The Fog" and the remake to that ....

Essentially wanting the projects to stand alone?

It was mentioned in talking dead at the end of S2, that in the universe where the show takes place, there was no pop-cultural influx of zombie movies courtesy of Romero et al.  Thus, the only people familiar with the term "zombie" would be legitimate voodoo practitioners (and bartenders I guess?).

The Stephen King thing just seems like laziness, though.

AMC streamed the first episode this season apparently because they had contract disputes with DishNetwork.

Well they hammered out the contracts and now AMC isn't streaming it anymore. So my only option outside of torrents or third party streams is $1.95 an episode at amazon.
