It was fun, "just not as much as his classics".

Ok, maybe not better than Boogie Nights.
Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody's gonna die. Come watch TV?

Inherent Vice  9/10

Probably my favourite P.T. Anderson movie to date.

Don't watch this one sober.

Definitely my favorite PT Anderson so far.  I love noir, the book is great, Pynchon is great, and it's really fucking hilarious with a great cast.

Yeah, I'm taking back what I said above - I like it more than Boogie Nights.

If I had a dollar for every girl that found me unattractive they would eventually find me attractive.

Very bold.

I watched The Party Animal.  Terrible 80's sex comedy.

how was St. Vincent?

I thought it was a great movie. Bill Murray is awesome as always and the connection he develops with the young kind was wonderful. At first he found the kid to be annoying, but then as the time they spent together grew, he began to accept the kid and like and care for him. Very rarely do I buy movies DVDs any more but this will probably be one that I purchase soon.

This movie probably leans more towards cheap gore payoff than the religious commentary some of the reviews indicate, but all in all a decent premise and much better than the dime a dozen title and cover graphic would have you expect. From the director of the great office comedy meets slasher flick "Severance". Worse ways to kill a beer, and on Netflix now.

that's what I need:  an Oz inmate drill instructor threatening to stomp a mudhole in my fat ass if I take a break before the set's over

Been catching more series and films from New Zealand as of late, and love their quirky, independent style. Unfortunately, this film was a letdown. Touted as being a horror comedy, this movie fell apart as it progressed. Early on, the mood was heavier and more neurotic which had a traditional drama-like approach. As the horror elements increased in the middle of the movie, the level of suspense seemed fairly tame. By the end of the movie, all of the story's darkness was gone and replaced by "Home alone" styled humor.

Again, pretty disappointing attempt at what going to be a cliche plot line. 5.5/10

Black, Sludge, and Doom Metal references within the first 5 minutes. This was a great weekend time killer. Stupid and funny.
