"Annabelle" is reliably from the makers of "The Conjuring" and "Insidious" -- same texture, same art design, same family in peril story, same creaks and thumps, same use of expert to give our heroes some insight into possession, same use of dolls, hallways and lurking demons.  

That said, a couple nice scares and unsettling moments.  

One genuinely horrifying moment that has nothing to do with demons.

I thought it was shockingly bad.  Though I did like the scene I believe you're referencing.  That and the robbery were the two real surprises (other than Tyler Perry being so likeable).

The thing with re-watching Up In Smoke on weed, is that it will totally remind you of the first time you saw Up In Smoke on weed.

It just seems to have that effect.

Woke up at the asscrack of dawn on my birthday in August, got stoned as fuck and watched this movie.  Then I watched the next two Cheech and Chong movies, though I passed out and went back to sleep during the third one.  Good times...

Godzilla..saw it in theater, think I liked it more second time
American Muscle...sick, fun..
Under the Skin...liked it..weird, subtle..need to watch again
Concussion..Liked it..good soft porn/melodrama...plus good lesbo scenes from SOA ladies..
Enemy..another solid film, weird ending..and in hindsight, premise

Nebraska - A black-n-white indie film with Bruce Dern.

It's a bit slow but I recommend sticking with it. At it's core, its a father/son story but really the whole entire family is envolved in various degrees. There are a lot of landscapes shots of Montanna, South Dakota, Nebraska which I loved.

I don't want to say much more about it but I really liked the film. You need some patience but it's worth it.

EDIT: The only thing that baffled me is why it was Rated R. I see it as a PG-13 movie at best.

I didn't like it as much as you guys. The actions scenes were really good and it's got a lot of style. I just couldn't get past the bad plot and all the cliches.

It's not a bad movie though.

I could be mistaken, because I have not seen the film, but looks to be all flash and little substance purely in a tongue in cheek sort of thing...? I'm getting that from the trailer anyways..wonky lines, over the top action sequences..and if done right can be so bad it works..

It's the films that try to be serious and "fringe" that fail for me more often than these types

The thing is that the actions scenes are much better than the usual fare. There are no hyperknectic edits or CG - just straight out ass kicking. The action scenes are really exciting. But the plot sucks. It really sucks.

The way I see it - It was a good director vs. a bad screenwriter. I'm really divided on this picture to be honest.
