My favorite local diner, the LDR Char Pit, has a breakfast like that. Its called the shooie.
2 eggs any way (i go sunnys)
Choice of bacon (3 slices thick cut), sausage or ham.
Homefries (total homemade, not frozen from a bag) i always get mine well with onions.
Toast (any kind, i always get rye)
Coffee or orange juice
Its greasy and awesome hangover grub.

I think its like $6.25

$6.25 gets you a chicken wing here. Or 3 strips of Buffalo tofu.

"Breakfast all day long"

Back in the 80s, you used to be able to get that breakfast (2 eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon or sausage, coffee) at certain diners in Chicago for under $3. Yeah!!!

Pie not included. Young Lumpy would get pie too sometimes.

2.99 are you outta your mind?

Was like $2.85 so if you had $3.50 you could eat and leave a tip.

There's probably still some cheap diners in Pittsburgh?

After I picked up my Orange cab this morning I wa driving by an old friends restaurant and he was outside tearing up their outside dining area because Portland is digging up the street for 5 months for sewer work. Really right now?  Luckily his wife is a nurse so she'll always be employed. Fucking hell.  His place rules too.

Been making instant coffee the past few days, Medaglia D'Oro Instant Expresso and okay it really hits the spot. Also goosed it with brandy, half n half and sugar after my neighbor turned me onto it. Really soups up late afternoon's. Not too buzzy either.
