I've got a buddy with a hard-on for a non reversed Thunderbird bass, does anyone make basses that shape anymore that aren't like $2200 like the Fano?

either that or he's going to buy a Schecter

Oh yeah, his ideal is white with a tortoiseshell pickguard :D

For $2200 one could almost buy an original (if they can find one for sale). I talked to a dude who payed about that much for a vintage one. Badass basses.

Email this guy.  He got the Czech company BaCH to make NR birds to his (meaning Gibson) specs and will ship anywhere in the world.  No idea what they cost now, but it will be under $1000.

Thirty-five dollars and a six pack to my name.

Wow. Somebody pick me up one of those. Pretty please. Thanks in advance.

I wonder if that Bach is a long scale neck? It looks like it in the video. If so I think I might have found my newest latest thing I cant live without.

Hemisaurus

I think Eastwood might be doing one, they just did a Firebird clone, would make sense if they do the t'bird next.

Man, that bach stuff looks cool, Ric clones and NR Tbirds, and they ship to the US, but for a funds transfer, which sounds dodgy ???

crunkhero

That's why I brought up the numberoneguitars guy instead of BaCH.  He can get any of BaCH's products and will take Paypal payments.  When I got my bird I had to do a wire transfer at the bank, which added about $75 to the total.

Oh, and the bass is longscale.

I did email the guy at Eastwood asking about a 'Stormbird' bass, and he got back to me saying there weren't any plans for one, and I said that was OK, B&CH music did non-reverse t-birds.

He did say, that if you can get 12 people to order them, the factory would do a custom run of 24 (I assume 12 covers the costs, and the other 12 are for sale to anyone else?) but they would all have to be the same colour and design, but we could choose bridge preference, pickup configuration, nut width, scale length etc.

So if we could ever get 12 people on this forum to agree on something, which in itself seems pretty unlikely :D

Imagine that though the Riff Rock Bass ::) surely we can all agree it needs to be black

RISE, ZOMBIE THREAD!

Eastwood just came out with a Stormbird bass. Only one finish option as of now, looks like a sort of Lake Placid Blue. Still, I've also been waiting and searching a long time for a reasonably price NR Thunderbird bass, so I figured I'd bump this up for interested parties.

For under $500, that looks like a dynamite bass. I had the guitar version of the Stormbird for many years, and for a while it was my #1.

the real thing is fucking awesome, I know. Got to play zack from radio moscow's (old bassist) original non reverse bass a few times. that thing was like a thin sg with a huge neck. Amazing tone and feel. I've got a modern epi t-bird and they feel nothing like that old bass, though it's still a killer bass imo.

That eastwood looks great for the price, and if it feels like the real thing I would be all about it.
