They "can't escape"? Surely an easy enough workaround to being trapped; just dont go in to work again! Ever! The main dude [spoiler]can feel something is off when he's not at work and he senses the company is really fucked up and it ruined the life of his best workpal so ffs dude, just dont go in there! Find another job! Problem solved.[/spoiler]

Guessing now the "work" is all fake and its some huge Truman Show social experiment.

Also they lose their memories but what about [spoiler]emotions? If they're suicidally frantic when they clock off and get in the elevator surely they'll still be suicidally frantic when they get out of the elevator, they'll just have forgotten why they're in such a state?[/spoiler]
