I am sure this has been answered to death, but I need an explanation about how to hook a full stack so a 1st grader can understand.

Both of my amp heads are switchable between 4, 8, and 16 ohms.  100 watt marshals.  (Of course, I'm only using one for the full stack).  I have a 1960 Lead 4x12 that has a choice between 4 or 16 ohm mono, and two 8 ohm stereo inputs.  My 1960ax (with greenbacks  ;D) can switch between 4 or 16 ohms.

Do I set amp at 8 ohms and the cabs at 16 ohms each?  Or, do I set amp at 8 and cabs at 4?  Or, do I do something else?

Much help would be appreciated.

heh^^  One time this kid came up to Lordfinnese (who was running sound at the venue where this kid was playing) and asked him "How much reverb do you have in-house"?

25 pugles worth of reverb sir.  you can't possibly need more pugles of reverb than that.  Unless you have a different unit of measure for reverb quantity.  because if you're measuring in terms of say.... lurfdunks, there's only 17 lurfdunks in this house.  The other house has about 19 1/2 lurfdunks, but I wouldn't suggest that.  That much reverb will give people cotton mouth.

so immediately this turned into an inside joke.

Exactly 8 aircraft carriers worth of reverb.  That is how much reverb I have in-house.

Vinyls.   deal.
