what is up with all the "nu metal" bands using digital amps

You'll never get it to sound right with an odd number of tube pairs, it fucks up the phasing of the harmonics.

my feelings is that at low volume in the bedroom they sound ok at best, but with any volume they sound like total dogshit.  Now if I played in a cover band with styles from the 50s to today, I might consider a digital amp
