So looking for a new Phaser, anyone got any recommendations?

Currently using a Phase 90 which, to be honest, does the job pretty well but I'm getting bored and want to try something different. I do have an old Small Stone which sounds great but the switch is busted, I'll get around to fixing it one day but can anyone recommend anything cool in the phaser world?

I had a wounded Paw P90 for a few years and really dug it. It sounded much better on guitar than it did on bass so I ended up selling it.
It was kind of a mix between a Phase 90 and a small stone.

Instant Dan

I still use the old big box Small Stone Reissue.

Blackout Whetstone and sibling are considered the best boutique ones.

One of my favorites is the Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter Phase.

Love it or hate it I still love my boss super phaser

Worthless Willie

I super love my EXH Polyphase.  Really shapable phase, and also does envelope following, as well.

This thread reminds me that I need to get a Phase 90, been wanting one for forever. Wasn't that into the Small Stone I used to have.

I haven't tried too many (or any, i should say...) boutique phasers, but the Phase 90 is still one of my fave store-bought effects.

I've been looking for a new phaser for a while too. Had a Red Witch, it didn't go quite slow enough. It was pretty cool non the less, until broke. Now I've gone back to my phase 90. The Keeley Phaser seems pretty sweet, but pricey.

Dr.Zayus

I own a mutron phasor, a boss super phaser, some weird German one called All Sound that has a wahwah type thing that controls the speed of the phase, and I've played around with small stones, but I gotta say I like my phase 90 better than any of them. So simple, so rich sounding, so compact...

Best phaser type sound that I ever had was two ring mods stack on the same setting.

The store bought Phase 90 even slew every DIY Phase 90 clone I attempted to build.

Added a toggle switch to take R28 in and out of circuit, hello extra versatility.

I guess I can rehouse the store bought circuit into another box and tell people I built it, heh

I also have vinatge phase 90(truly awesome in that it actually is kind of a boost too, it adds some weird grit ala van halen).
Oddly, I have a newer EVH Phase 90 and it doesnt do that at all.
I have a vintage phase 45, very nice, subtle.
a russian small stone and couple other cheaper common phasers.

they are all fairly different. the older ones are way better to my ears

And the Phase 100 sounds nothing like the Phase 90. More of a Small Stone vibe

Boss PS-1 or PS-1r is my favorite but I wouldn't mind an MXR script for some variety.

The Riffer

Really digging the Hardwire Phaser. I went through a phaser kick, bought a bunch and this is the only one left standing.

How transparent is the Hardwire.  I've got an old multi effect that i'm using for my phaser and it ain't what i'd call transparent on or off.  obviously no true bypass.

The Riffer

It's True Bypass and can be transparent and subtle, or really complicated and intrusive. lots of tweeking possibilities, but unlike the Moog I had, its easy to find the same sound you had before you tweeked the knobs..

What I use. This will make you rethink the word versatility. Plus it runs on a light dependent resistor, which is just plain cool.
