I'm tryin to use this(rfx 402p) to control my delaylab
and i must be doin somethin wrong cause nothin happens
it works fine as a volume pedal(more like a switch)
So i got a stereo cable, hooked it up per vox directions, and nothin
i notice cv in/out
anyone tell me which jack to be in, pan on or off
or if it will even work

thanks

I think the Vox is looking for a passive resistive pedal, not a CV pedal. Does the manual for the foot pedal say it can be used this way?

#2
i dont have the manual
so i dont have the slightest idea whats doin
bought it used on a whim as a vp which it kinda blows for
someone mentioned cv and stereo cable=exp pedal
ima get somethin decent for an exp eventuall
this thing is kinda like a light switch so even if it did work
it would be like krankin the knob around
are most exp pedals passive resistive im clueless

Lumpy

I would assume CV out, and turn Pan off (try it both ways though).

Not every expression pedal works with every pedal with an expression jack -- some of them are picky about which expression pedals they can use.

Look for the manual for your pedal online. Everything in the universe is online.

Oh shit, I had an RFX volume pedal -- super cheapy POS. I didn't remember the name until I Googled it and saw pics. It's an old pedal. The Vox Delay Lab is probably too modern for that RFX. A good inexpensive expression pedal that seems to work with a lot of pedals is the Roland EV-5, but see if you can find the Vox manual, because they might recommend a different one.

he was askin if i had the manual to the rfx
the vox manual doesnt say
it has detailed instructions how to set up exp, but no likes and dislikes
it is a cheap pedal though huh
it looks more like a wild animal trap than pedal

Hemisaurus

I'm guessing the stereo cable probably isn't helping either, on the Rolls end.

If you have a buddy, with a multimeter, it can probably be made to work, or someone who knows what the pedal does, and what the Vox wants, I found zero info on the pedal spec-wise.

yeah did alot of searching myself when i originally posted this thread
and found next to nothing
but yeah bought a stereo cable from radio shack
ungats
and the thing with the vox you got to set the padal up at least when you first plug it in
to set what paramaters you wanna control
its not just plug and play
thanks for the help though guys
if you wanna keep sleuthin this one ill open it up
and take gut shots

on a side note i get smote like every 2 posts
must be my jersey accent
sorry whoever im buggin
ill keep my whining to a minimum

Hemisaurus

Gut shots might help a bit, the trouble is the Vox manual is also pretty non-specific. As are the manuals for the two Korg pedals they recommend.

I'm betting opening up the Rolls will show that it has only mono 1/4" jacks, so do you have an insert cable, 1/4" stereo to 2x1/4" mono? I'd try hooking up the stereo end to the Vox, picking one mono 1/4" jackplug, try it in all 4 jacks on the Rolls in turn, then try the same with the other jackplug.
