It's pointless if you don't had a dedicated sub system, you won't hear anything through an 8x10 or something like that. Also note that a lot of power amps have a 30Hz filter, in some cases switchable, in some cases not, which renders them useless. They do make it really fun to watch your speakers.

Peavey had a good one too, Kosmos I think it was, those things are secret weapons. You'll also find similar algorithms on a lot of rackmount multifx's, which is a good way to play with one, and still not have wasted your money if you don't like it.
