Well yeah you can record underwater with a condom round the mic, but you have to roll it all the way over the cable and then tape it to stop water getting in, if you plan to completely submerge the mic. If you just want to poke a mic in the surface, then just make sure you covered the bit that will be getting wet. It's good for field recordings, or effects, say you suspend a speaker over a bath of water, and then mic the sound under the water.

This does not mean you can now put your amps in the swimming pool ;)

Yeah, make sure YOU buy the rubbers, though, I tried using one my ex-girlfriend bought one time and it was riddled with holes, what is THAT about? hahaha :D
