Alien Lanes.  if you don't love that one they ain't the band for you.  that one's all lo-fi, bit of warning

Metal and Beer

This is one of the bands on The List that I'm not cool enough to like.
"Would it kill you fellas to play some Foghat?"

Lumpy

They seem very hit & miss to me. I've heard a few songs that are really good, and some that do absolutely nothing for me.

I like this one (lead vocal is amazing, and the chord changes and arrangement are fresh IMO) but it was the only song on the LP I really liked, so it got traded pretty quick. On the positive side, they have like 20 albums, and main dude is a schoolteacher in Dayton Ohio. On the negative side, they seem a little dated ("indie rock") and they write anthemic rock music without any kind of message (is that "post-ironic" or something?)

(Warning: Pop music)

Rock & Roll is background music for teenagers to fuck to.

mortlock

i knew a dude who dug these guys, but i always got the sense that he was doing it to be cool..

Pollard's got a shitload of solo albums as well.  this one rules

and then this-a-one time, I seen Torche do a cover of this
