Title: Amplitube?
Post by: kirky on April 01, 2013, 04:36:38 PM
Anybody mess with this stuff? Thinking about getting an iRig. I see they have a jimi hendrix and a slash version as well.

As far as demoing stuff you're working on goes it's great.

It definitely has a purpose. Replacing your rig? nah, but late night jamming with something that actually sounds semi decent? Yup.

I like Amplitube but I love NI Guitar Rig. For doing what SunnyJ))) said.

I would have it, but I've never had a computer that could handle the fuckin' software. Latency issues destroy my life. I don't have an i-anything, either.

I have been enjoying my tech 21 character pedals

they simulate amps

I use them with IR impulses, and like them better than computer amp sims

but, I would prefer an axe fxII!  here is a clip of fuzz pedal axefx at 1:00 min

Yeah I was just gonna grab an app for iPhone. They're all about $15. Wondered which one I should get. Reviews are all over the place. Some love it, some hate it.

I don't have a bass amp of my own so I usually use Amplitube's SVT when I record. It gets the job done.

I tried the Peavey one and it sounded good. Liked it a bit more than the Amplitude ones.

All of them have free demos which great if you want to try them out.

For software recording stuff the Markbass plugin sounds very good for bass.

That being said I know of people that have used amplitube on records and no one can tell the difference, it is all about how well you can mix/eq. I have noticed that if you stray very far off the presets they start to sound pretty terrible haha. I do play with mine quit a bit though since I live with people and they do not appreciate my amps very much.....
