i am going to custom wire my strat as follows:
I am getting a new black "tuxedo" pick guard with white knobs to spruce up a cream colored parts strat that i've had since I was 12. I'm transplanting the pickups I have in it now: 2 texas specials in the neck and middle and a dimarzio chopper (single sized humbucker with a pretty serious mid scoop) in the bridge.
it is going to have two volumes and a tone control only for the middle and neck. the first volume will be a push/pull pot (for coil tapping) for the bridge pickup that bypasses any switching, 2nd volume for the middle and neck. instead of a 5 way it will have a 3 way switch for the middle/neck pickups.that way you can have all the strat tones, plus some crazy combinations.
the problem is that I don't know how to wire it up. Do I just treat them as 2 separate circuits: the bridge to the volume to the output jack, and then the neck/middle middle like a normal strat?
sorry - not too sure why the weird editing happened on this topic. anyone want to help with this?
crickets . . .
