I like the idea, but the pricing is wack.  Now if it followed the Netflix model - set price a month, different tiers of how many pedals you could rent at a time, etc. it would be awesome.

I think the prices are fine. Includes shipping two ways (correct?). They need more pedals (only 5 from Zvex, for example).

I think it would be a great low-risk way to try some more expensive pedals (like a Rainbow Machine) and see if you like it. Or see if a fuzz plays nicely with your other stuff, before committing to buy. I didn't read too carefully -- do they apply the rental fee to your purchase, if you want to keep the pedal?

I guess it depends on how loose your local stores are, as far as taking a pedal home and returning it the next day because it didn't work out. Do any stores give you a trial period? If so, then just go with that. It seems like a great idea to me, though.

Looks like you pay for shipping (it would have been better to fold them into the fees, IMO) but yes, your rental price is deducted if you decide to buy.

I still think it's a good idea. If you might drop $275 on a Whetstone, then spending $50 bucks ($35 plus shipping both ways) for a trial run isn't too hard to swallow. Because otherwise, if you paid upfront and you don't like it, you might have to take $50 off to to re-sell it.
