that's some good Sunday morning shit right there. :)
Well...
The first video..didn't know if it was serious or what..That sounded like me trying to play eruption in 79...
Second vid was cool, that thing sounds good as a part of an ensemble, especially with that touch of phase shift.
Nice, good find.
yeah the first video I thought the dude didn't know how to play the thing. yes it mirrored my attempts at Eruption in Jr High too. :D
I quit halfway thru the 1st vid, but the 2nd was highly enjoyable.
that first one was more about the instrument. I would like to own one.
there's other videos of a double necked instrument that looks similar.
One thing that I'm really interested in is getting an exotic acoustic instrument, a Greek bouzouki or something in that order, fit a acoustic pickup on it and play that thing through a Fender(-ish) combo with loads of reverb and modulation. I bet you can do some crazy stuff with that.

...or how about some pipa:
those hang drums are pretty awesome.
I like this one. I think they are in Thailand.

hey, that looks pretty cool. are you looking to reinforce the low end through that horn? i saw a video of a cello with a grammaphone horn installed to project the sound differently.
do you have a vid of that being played? that would be cool.

The horn is more low mid reinforcement because it is quite sort in the scheme of horns, which is where it needs to be to get loud acoustic. The vid is the first link.
I want a didgeridoo and a theremin, maybe someday I will buy both.

That thing is a fucking monster, Oli. Some serious low-end outta it...
Might serve you well to get someone who actually knows how to play a bowed instrument to demo it too.
