Post riffs so crushingly heavy and recorded so prefectly, that they transcend music and become weapons.
Buried at Sea – Migration Part One / 0:30-2:36 – this is the fucking apocalypse caught on 2" tape. Nothing is heavier.

Pelican – Pulse / 2:05-2:50 – I'm a Pelican fan, but I'd be an even bigger one if this was their only album.

Replicants – Cinnamon Girl / 0:00-0:23 – The guitar sounds like a cornered wolverine.

Eyehategod – Age of Bootcamp / 0:26-1:40 – The soundtrack to police nightsticking your head.

Players Club – The EMP / iTunes preview – Is that a bass guitar or a recording of something being horrifically murdered? Both?

There's not a single weak moment on this whole album, I just grabbed this one for the fact that the riff in question is starts at 0:00.
As soon as the bass slide hits, I want to start tearing infants in half:
Haven't heard this version, just the album version, but I bet it delivers. Riff hits around 2:30. Pure dissonant brilliance, total sonic weaponry.
I've been having some browser crashing issues over the last week, but it just happened again during that EHG track. Coincidence? I think not \m/
These are my old stand by's...
This outro riff from 4:00 ~ on is pretty gnarly
Sonic Titan - Not the most brutal/destructive, bit I've always been leveled by the simple pentatonic riff at 2:00-2:40
Weakling 1- These opening riffs are vicious.
Weakling 2- 5:00 - 9:50
Eagle Twin. I find the whole song crushing.
TROLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLO, but really though:
1:52 on this song is the best example of death metal, it's the fucking PINNACLE. Also, the be-all-end-all death metal riff, to me.
some damn good ones in SunnO)))'s post
I know these aren't often Meshuggah-freindly boards but goddamn, I just got my face hammered.

Gets heavy around 2:32
Dance like Dixie
Just found this. Holy crushing!
Currently having the titled effect on me:
There's always something about those chromatic descending 3rds.

I will definitely second those - went to see DOWN 2 months ago and they played buried in smoke as their ENCORE and the crowd went crazy! great tune
was outside a SLEEP concert in austin at Mowhawk and the amount of volume and bass from that was amazeballz ;)
awesome song, hilarious cover art

Couldn't agree more. I'm really interested in their amp set up... And pedals. I'm pretty sure last time I checked, they had a couple of Model Ts, some sunn cabs, the bass player had a Guild bass, the one guitarist had an EGC or Travis Bean (can't remember) and the other one had a V.
I cannot believe the avalanche of riffage coming from this band. Every 30 seconds I have to stop and think WTF. The entire album is like that.
