Title: Shop/home stereo
Post by: ROWDYBEER on December 28, 2011, 11:12:03 PM
So I just got a pair of 1978 magnavox 15" speaker cabs with adjustable horns. I need some suggestions on what amp to get. Dont want to spent a lot of money. I mainly want to hook up an ipod or my iphone maybe a cd player at some point. Never need to listen to the radio or movies or anything just music.. I want to listen to music loud instead of play it for once. Never really had a home stereo.

try a used 100w/ch receiver for starts.  they are cheap.

damn that mac amp is sweet.   a friend in HS's dad had the entire mac stack. oh i coveted that so bad even at the tender age of w/e 16.   i was building my dynaco dyna-kit 40w/ch integrated amp (SS) about that time.  i coveted the 200w/ch kit too.

I been rocking this panasonic since this dude gave it to me when he upgraded in the 90's, this thing must be from the 80's. It's a little grainy at high volumes but it works.

Yeah just get a receiver from the electronics aisle at Goodwill or something.  Or find one on CL.  Quick check of my local CL and I found these.
