Heya,
I remember that a lot of you have mixed speakers in your cabs. Ex: 4x12 Marshall (2 G12H30's, 2 V30's) etc. Lay it on me, does it make a difference? Benefits?
I had one with mixed, one with all v30's..4x12's.
The difference was minimal to my ears...
In both cases they were new speakers. celestians i believe.
Im looking at the v30 cab now, avatar cabs.
couple years ago i was hear8ing some mallarky about removing one speaker from a 4x12 being all the rage.
Been considering doing the g12h30/v30's mix in another cab but assumed a quad set of g12h30's would be better for a warmer sound than a mix. That way I'd have 1 cab with v30's and another w/ g12h30's.
I had an Avatar with V30/g12h30 mix, good speaker combo too bad cab cannot handle the beef, 100W amps push it too hard, baffle distorts 2 much.
I thought avatar fixed that problem a while back? There used to be a guy on here that had that issue but it was on a scratch 'n dent special.

Slight Smoothing of the frequency response. Ei less peaks and dips cause the different drivers and their size.
A-ha! Thanks!
Different speakers in the same cab sounds baltarded. ;D ;D ;D
Wasn't my idea, blame Danny G! I think he did that.
