Title: the AO-35 and i heard about the Dr Z carmen ghia near-clone
Post by: jibberish on November 15, 2011, 04:26:15 PM
have to play with something whilst researching the ant parts
el84 amp with a rectifier tube too.  i will look into the carmen ghia conversion.

kind of nasty inside(not my pics but same) i see why people snag the transformers and the chassis/tube sockets as the starting point

ya 84 sry, i fixed it..   what a kludge inside.  this one is from 1959 and doesnt even have screw terminals on the connector strip, they were all solder points.    it is nasty.  but not a ton of use so maybe the tubes and all clean up ok.  i dont think i would still use any can type caps from that era. 50 years, wow

wonder why a goodsell 17 is worth $2500?  it's a mod.
