When I was a wee child, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with that bullshit.
Now, RFD-TV has been showing it every Sunday night, and I cannot stop watching it.
Gloom, despair and agony on me
Deep dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, agony on me
Wooooooah
There were some hot chicks on there dressed all country bumpkin.

I liked it as a kid - well, sort of. I hated the music. Junior Samples was funny in a "oh, poor guy" kind of way. Now? Fuck the show. Know what I'm saying?
Buck Owens had a Justin Bieber haircut.
Growing up with country music it didn't bother me at all. I'm ashamed to say that it seemed pretty realistic to a little kid in the south at the time too.
I could tell it was inane garbage at age 10, and my taste is questionable at best. I did recognize that Roy Clark was a badass though...
This shits great.
My grandma watched Lawrence Welk. Same kinda deal.
Agreed on Roy Clark.
Yah, L.W. was even on the same channel? The one that wasn't NBC, ABC, or CBS.
Kids these days !
UHF? ;)
LOL, yup, the Snow Channel, test pattern after The Twilight Zone would end the day's programming....we old !
When changing from channel 20 to 50, we'd get hollered at for turning the dial too quickly.

if we changed the dial really fast between 30-32, we could get scrambled porn from 'it' satellite TV (not to be confused with 'on' satellite TV)
I hated it, but that was before I learned to appreciate Country music (or Country music beyond Johnny Cash & a few others, let us say). Saw a few classic songs from HEE HAW on youtube recently.
Even today, I probably couldn't go the humor, but who knows?
Time to try it again ?
I used to love this show!
Man I watched a lot of Hee Haw with my dad as a kid then we'd watch Saturday night Portland Wrasslin' with Sandy Bar. wrestlers with names like Hack Sawyer, Playboy Buddy Rose, Billy The Cloud etc.....
It's on right now.
Hee Haw - Dexter - Hell on Wheels - Walking Dead

Why? Is it because they make fun of Texans? lol
