I was reading an interview with Matt Pike, about his custom 9 string, and he was saying it's a 1/2 inch thicker than a Les Paul, aren't they like 1 3/4" thick already?

This video will give you a pretty decent idea of how thick it really is.
Vinty LP's are 1 3/4, roughly, with the cap.
He carries it in a gig bag?
he stated that he has tuning problems with it.
the fucker is a huge slab I wouldn't be suprised.
It probably has tuning issues because he treats it like shit... It has grovers, and high end hardware. There's no reason for it to have tuning issues other than neglect.
Yeah, he hasn't really had that custom for very long??? What like a few years or so? Granted, he is a touring musician but that things lookin' pretty beat these days. I guess it's all in how you treat your shit. Maybe he should go back to his pauls? Maybe then I'd stop pretending Surrounded by Thieves was his last album ;D
I really like the Idea of a 9 string guitar like that though. But I think I might be better off finding an old BC rich 10 string.

Right on, Thanks :)
I really enjoyed High On Fire the last time I saw them but they did seem excessively noisy, maybe it was all of those extra strings chiming throughout their set.
i have a 9 string, and it is kind of hard to keep in tune . . .
