Title: G&L magnetic field design pickups
Post by: RageofKlugman on September 01, 2011, 05:22:26 AM
Morning all! I've been gassing for a G&L ASAT special for a while now - the ones with the big soapbar style MFD pickups - and was curious if anyone in the forum had personal experience of them. G&Ls are pretty thin on the ground in the UK so its not easy to find a place that stocks them to try one out.

The MFDs are meant to sound kind of like p90s, but with less noise. Can anyone confirm / refute this? Any other feedback would be appreciated too.

I had a mid-90s ASAT guitar for a couple of years with those pickups. Loved em. They actually had more volume/balls than a lot of P90s. I really miss that guitar. Only sold it because I needed scratch in a bad way.

Thanks for the replies, it's good to hear about people's positive experiences. Just need the money now, eh?
