I kind of like that, now I've seen it. I like reversed headstocks, the thickest strings should have more length, it improves tension. Big Q, how much do they want for it?

Fender could always get their own back and do a Clapton SG.

I love the reader comments on that story. I don't know why they stopped short of suggesting that this is B. Hussein Obama's fault.

Muthfucks removed all the comments. They must just want to make me look dumb. Well played, Nashville.

Shoulda never left Kzoo.  Long live Heritage Guitars, still made at 225 Parsons Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49007.  Made by former Gibson employees, owned by former Gibson employees, in the original Gibson factory, with the original Gibson tools and molds and finished in the original Gibson top-secret finishing room (shhh!).  And they're usually the same price or cheaper!

I totally think there's more to this story than we're told, on Gibson's part that is. All businesses have one object in common; to get richer. That being said I still believe this is quite retarded, how can you punish someone for something that wasn't seen as unlawful back then? (I'm specifically talking about instruments made in the 70's and so forth, I'm sure Gibson has been purchasing illegal wood and not really cared that much about it.).

The notion that a law enforcement agency is recommending that a domestic factory shut it's doors and supplant to a remote eastern African island is beyond absurd. I don't believe that politically-charged mischaracterized bullshit for even one second. No matter how many Glen Becks regurgitate it. I promise you that this is exactly how it went down:

DoJ: You know you're breaking the law by importing this wood right?

Gibson: But we think the law is ambiguous and not fair.

DoJ: Yes. But illegal logging is literally tearing apart Madagascar. When the Lacey Act was amended in 2008, the crux of it is that it now uses the American legal system to reinforce the laws of other countries and forestry codes. In some countries are the laws so vague and contradictory that they are hard to follow. In Madagascar, for example, exports are restricted to finished or semi-finished products.

Gibson:  So you're saying that if the finished product was exported from there, that loophole would not be a violation of the law as it is written?

DoJ: Correct.

Gibson (to Chris Daniels, Glen Beck, etc.): Barack Hussein Obama told us to move our factories to Madagascar or he is going to send in his buddies Jeremiah Wright, the Black Panthers, ACORN, and Common to take our guns and freedom.

Beck: Socialist!

Gibson: Can I tell you about our new guitar coming out? It's got lasers instead of strings. And instead of pickups, we put in a little robot dog that sings wirelessly into your amplifier.

Beck: Nice. How much?

Gibson: It's our most affordable instrument. Starts at $6,800. AND that includes a swell gig bag.

Beck: I want my listeners buy these. We can all hide in the gig bag, when the Barack Hussein AntiChrist come to kill you and your family.

A legal issue regarding environmental and corporate action got turned into a political debate, complete with spin from media shitheads? Hmm, that's weird.
