Title: DUNLOP Jimi Hendrix Octavio Fuzz Demo
Post by: SensoryOverload on January 10, 2016, 06:50:48 PM
One of my favorite pedals, had this puppy for years. Battery operated and is built to sound like Jimi Hendrix's classic Octave Fuzz sound he used back in the day. I don't always have use for it but when I do it's for an explosive part of a guitar solo or song, also get some great Western movie tones out of it.

Curious how many of you guys have one on your board?

Also, check out the video and let me know what you think if youre not familiar!

I love the Octavia - built one with a pcb. Would like to try the Dunlop version though. From what I understand of the schematics it's a new take on the circuit and sounds pretty damn cool.

Thats sick man! I'm not too technical with how these things are built but it's the heaviest pedal I've ever owned and seems like it houses a lot of old-school components as opposed to the new small, compact and light pedals. I believe this means different materials were used that somehow shape the tone better, but cause a decreased battery life and increased price. Hence why these things require a 9V and are pretty rare these days.
