Title: Play Your Favorite Riff/Solo-
Post by: Beta Cloud on December 27, 2015, 03:27:30 AM
so i worked two back to back 16hr shifts at the hospital on three hours of sleep.
got home and danked it up.
thought i'd play my guitar for a few minutes and started playing this. it's a 'comfort solo'
everyone's got one.
this is mine.
floyd live at pompeii echoes. not verbatim, but the changes are represented.

so what's your 'comfort solo' or riff?
post it up here RIFFROCKERS!

i'll add something soon here too.

pretty fuckin badass bro, nice take on a 12 bar. the slide action makes it fantastic.

zz/lizzy/walsh tastic'!

killer tone too. what's the gear used?

Thanks!

It's a crappy Korean Epiphone LP Jr. with a P-100 and upgraded electronics, set up in open E & going into a Blackstar HT-5 (dirty channel) & thru a 12" Greenback.

I know what you mean—sometimes I can go for days without playing anything but slide.

i'm down to 4 guitars now man,
two gibby lesters, a nice american strat, and a classical; don't wanna jack up the action on any of em, (the classical would not accomodate, lol), but want a dedicated slide guitar.
haven't had one in like ten years; an 80's squier that played like buttah.
just been getting by with a bic lighter on the occasional, 'one of these days' or 'rocky mountain way' on one of the regulars.
but that epi jr of yours sounds fucking great... i think the p-100 is key there.
maybe i need a beater baby for some slide.
my old lady's gonna kill me.
so be it.
