Old Weird Neil's classic rig.

where's a fucking magnatone when you need it?
That's a motherfucker that knows tone.
Saw him at ACL two years ago with a reunited Crazy Horse.
He had a Tetris stack wall of amps and speaker cabs, most of which I couldn't identify.
His tone was like the voice of God. All-powerful and eternally loving.
gotta love anyone who would paint a goldtop black..
yeah but that whizzer is weird. I wonder how fast it turns the knobs. is it instantaneous or kinda gradual like? Freaky.
that's why they call him 'old weird neil'.
he is pretty dialed in, whatever it is...
remember someone linked an article, or maybe I read somewhere in a magazine that he could tell when the mains were low. his amps didn't sound quite right.
his pedal selection seems basic.
From what I've read the Whizzer is set to various levels of gain & reverb which he uses as dirt boxes so to speak. Brilliant idea for a tube amp. Doesn't he also use a Magnatone for its vibrato?
what clips or songs of his should I pay attention to to hear this rig to end all rigs?
Every electric piece he's ever done. Weld is good live summary of some of his best work. On Psychedelic Pill (recent album) he's doing it pretty neat too.
I have a soft spot for Ragged Glory.
thx, checking out psychadelic pill on spotify right nwo, I do like disc golf so I dig the disc/frisbee on the cover :)
ontario!
I'm not trying to be disrespectful to Mr. Young, however, this rig needs to be strongly considered.

Oh my.
Whose is that?
Someone from...THE FUTURE!
Holy shit.
That pedalboard looks like some kind of recovered alien technology.
