Now what is the pedal he is using, and are those cabs 6x12, 4x15, 8x10 ??? Such a fanboy ::)
Depending on when that video is from, it sounds a helluva lot like a Schumann PLL (stupid expensive).

He kicks it in around the 3:20 mark.
Totally rad...
Jesus Christ that pll is one bad mutha fucka.
Does sound kind of square wavey and phasey, bit like the Nocto Loco.

Is it just me, or does that Schumann sound like a 100 tiny assholes?
Am I the only one that thought that was really bad?
The Schumann or Cope's bass playing? Haven't checked the Schumann vid, I was just being funny about the pedal, but the main bass sound is good, could do with being a little more hairy, whatever he's using for the second sound is very weak, you can get something phasey and fuzzy without it sounding so thin. I get some really nice phasey/flangey sounds with some old Ibanez racks I have, and on the low end of the sweep, the tone will shake your fillings loose. Maybe it's just the mic in the camera, but the other amp seems to come through pretty loud and clear.
His playing.
Nope, I dig it ;D
That was awful
I mean, he's certainly capable, I just thought that didn't really go anywhere.
Don't know if this is the same as the amp he's playing, but he has a 400W Matamp, here's some pics of it being built.

Allegedley doing 400W clean or 650W dirty.
Mmm, what I could do with a set of transformers like that :o
I'm interested in what you could do with them.

Go get me them, and I'll show you, get two of each, I'll build you one too ;)
First smite? Looks like someone really hates that pedal.
smite? you mean shite? ???
Ha, strange thread.. But seriously that Matamp sans headshell is eight-shades of ridiculous... still awesome.
Do you know the part numbers for those? Where would I find them?
They look like Partridges, which have been built by http://www.transformers.co.uk (http://www.transformers.co.uk) since the late 60's. I also believe Mr 1000W tube amp, Jon Chambers is involved, http://chambonino.com/ (http://chambonino.com/) who it appears also custom winds transformers, all that just gleaned from googling forums.

KT88 on left, 813 on right.

Just read the little write up. 1000 fucking watts. Don't want to seem like a pussy, but that's slightly terrifying.
So my question is - the SWR Megoliath, for instance, is rated at 1200 watts mono, but for some reason I feel like that 1000 watt tube amp would just detonate that speaker cabinet instantly. Thoughts?
Yeah, I'm imagining aluminum coned P.A speakers and a few cabs in parallel would be one of very few options for running that thing. Like I'm physically trying to imagine what that would sound like but... yeah. That's a serious piece of kit.
maybe this?

I'd imagine that would be it's clean spec. So if a 400W is 400W clean, 650W dirty 1000W amp is 1000W clean 1625W dirty, so yeah the 1200W cab is toast.
I'd try running 4 to 12 8x10 from it. ;)
What's scarier (to me) for that stuff is he's running a plate voltage of 2.5KV, no way I want to repair that sucker. Did you read this bit?

The two F,1amp fuses on the + and – ends of the main 2,500 volts HT rail should preferably be of the inch and a quarter type (32mm), and should have plastic covers over them, with all connections covered with shrink-sleeving too. Both fuses should also be mounted on a single (each) insulated pillar, and a minimum of one inch (25mm) from the chassis. In the event of a blown (shorting) 813 tube, once either (or both) of these fuses pop there is a chance of arcing if the fuse length is too short and/or too close to the chassis with connections exposed!
If the fuse is too short, it becomes a spark plug when blown. :-X
Wow that was shite... (the first video).

How exciting! If that amp becomes a bomb when a fuse blows it's the greatest and most rock 'n' roll amplifier ever concieved!
