vid of my newest band, 'Sons of Ghidorah'- i did the guitars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPX72CA1vR8
it's pretty cool and fuzzy neck pickup heavy. lotta solos.

also, i tried everything to imbed a youtube video.... am i missing something?

ya, this one fucks everyone up:

our little youtube embedder is looking for "http" only.

as I discovered the hard way, and we are looking right at your example, some youtubes have "HTTPS" designations. wtf secure format or w/e.

so I will now copy your link, except erase the s on the https, and.....
here is with the s still in

here is with it gone:

Hey guys, I am excited about my new riffage! I call it "March into the Sea", it is Sludge/Doom/Black Sabbath riffage with drums, bass, guitar solo...  using Black arts Pharaoh fuzz into my Tech 21 Oxford for all guitars, cheers and happy holidays :)

This is killer man! I'd love to hear some epic clean vocals over that, I started singing to myself over it lol.

yet another track by 'Sons of Ghidorah'
this one's called "sabbath is dead'. our response to bill ward being shafted out of the new album and tour.
and i still can't get the imbed right so you'll have to clicky click the linky link, (but well worth it, as it has a 3 minute solo with uber IOMMINESS!!!).

lyrics and vox by my boy mark are awesome-

"Verse I
Long before eternity
Immortal lives dark deities
In the age of wind behemoths rise
Earth below personified
-   Guitar Lead Break -
Verse II
Shaman invokes the sacred power
Heavens raged primeval war
Horns immersed in crimson rage
Gypsum faces destroy their Gods
Chorus
Favored by wicked women
Fallen lords of night
Reach for your divine powers
Your sacrifice
Overthrown by Gods of new
War of AEsir
Forgotten rituals
Your Sabbath is dead
Verse III
Died three times and three times reborn
Eternal sleep immersed once more
Humanity from their burning corpse
On the lifeblood of fated men.
Chorus
Favored by wicked women
Fallen lords of night
Reach for your divine powers
Your sacrifice
Overthrown by Gods of new
War of AEsir
Forgotten rituals
Sabbath is dead"

Thanks, all the people who dig my stuff are always across country lol. I've got standing offers galore, if I ever most to new england.

I revised it a little bit, with some better drums. Well, drums the fit more with what I wanted. I wrote the riffs to a click and just pasted drums under it.

All the drum programming stuff I have done, I just air guitared or grabbed the acoustic and filled in the midi to go with. Once the skeleton of the song is complete you can record riffs along to the drums. Then it's real easy to mix it down rough, listen back and write some meaningful fills and details that relate to the music into the drum parts.

...since anyone asked.

I wrote and recorded another new tune tonight. Going to try to keep up the momentum and write a new song every day this next week...or as often as I can get a few free hours to myself.

Another new one, cloggin this thread up while I'm off work for a week. I'm spending progressively more time fine tuning the drum tracks with each one of these. Definitely know how, I just get lazy wanting to pump out some new riffs sometimes. All these are definitely rough first draft type demos. Once I get a pile of them together, going to try to work out vocals and then redo all of them with some more time put into it.

Keep it up Corey.

Got inspired by your productivity and pieced this one out bit by bit after work this week. Still rough but close enough.

Edit: updated this one with a cleaner mix and a bass track added.

And this one came together over the last couple of days. I'll probably dismantle and rework the last one but I think this one came out pretty good on the first try.

Thanks man, glad to be of inspiration. I need to inspire myself to be more productive too and do some vocals for those songs. Tunes are sounding good, I reaaaaally like the second one. From the part where the slide guitar kicks in to the end is just killer.

I'm working on some more Ambient Doomy spacey stuff going for more of a David Gilmour type vibe it's producing some good sounds.  What do you think.

I'm beginning to think God was an Astronaut.

Thanks for the positive words. I am digging the slower one you posted... wish our SC player in here would post as the one that shows the cover art and song titles...

I think what I need to learn is that sometimes I fight a song for a while, and sometimes they just flow out. And the ones that flow usually turn out WAY better.

I get the same way. That's why I haven't posted any songs since those 3. I've sat down and started writing stuff 3 or 4 times, but mostly I ended up fighting myself and getting frustrated, not happy with the way anything was turning out. On a good song I might end up messing around with the drum sequencing for a couple hours afterwards, just trying to dial things in and refine it. When I start doing that at the beginning of the process, it almost always doesn't come together, because it means I don't have a clear idea of what I want to do. I'll put a lot of work into songs once I get the ideas out there, but the initial ideas usually have to flow out pretty effortlessly before that's productive for me. I definitely have musical ADD though, it's hard for me to keep my focus on one idea for long periods of time. I'll get a few songs out and then want to do something a little different. It's easier to stay on track in a group, by myself I'm held hostage by my own whims lol.

You guys are putting some inspirational stuff out there, thanks for the tunes. I'll try to upload a recording from the band's next rehearsal, it's starting to sound pretty sweet  ;D

I've been going through a bunch of my old/forgotten stuff and cataloging it based on key and time signature.  It's been pretty cool hearing some pretty gnarly stuff that I don't even remember writing/hearing.

This one was shortly after I bought my drum kit and was practicing making recordings where I played all the instruments.  Recording quality is pretty lo-fi and only had one mic to work with, but the riffs are pretty cool.

tht bridge or whatever you call that break is precious. talk about scattering tension like a dirty bomb in midtown. that could be some kind of movie music or something

BA nice creepy. actually the last bunch of songs all of you have posted have some nice creepy in them.

I like creepy.

fear of the trance. I tried something strange and it seemed to have paid off.  I used the top of the A minor creepy scale(sharp 7th) and part of the d minor creepy scale as my new scale that was really creepy

I was playing around with my RAT into various fuzzes, wrote a little ditty around it. RAT>BAT Pharaoh on one side, RAT>Meathead Dark clone on the other, RAT on bass up the middle. It's...ratty. Fuzzy ratty.
