It's still possible to vote here.

Rest of parts come in tomorrow to rewire the Paul Stanley Iceman.

I'm apprehensive now to rewire the 79 as well. It came with coil taps and after market pickups so I'm not worried about ruining any vintage wiring.

What I am concerned about is if I swap out the electronics will it change the sound of the guitar in any way?

It's been perfect forever and the original pots/wiring is still solid, so it doesn't need it anyway.

The LP and PS Iceman however, both needed it BAD. (Wiring issues after years of Frankensteining them)

If the taper is ok. If the tone control works to your liking. If there's no glitches in the switches and no jack cut out then I'd leave it.

Yeah, I'd leave it just because it's not necessary.  Not related to collectibility.  Because fuck those lawyers, and those dealer douchebags too.
Vinyls.   deal.

Got into a conversation with a guy on Imgur who claims to have a '57 Goldtop.  All gold. Back and neck also with Lifton OHSC. Has never heard of HIWATT amps and didn't know about The Who live at Isle of Wight. Huh?  That's about a $100k guitar.

Don't tell anyone, but there are fewer MIJ 1979 Icemen then there are 59 LP's.

Only 330 were made per year between 1977 and 1979.

I probably wouldn't route it for a Floyd or anything like that

Danny G

Would probably increase the value as they are not exactly "in demand" hahaha

Paul Stanley Iceman is rewired. Not as pretty as the Emerson harness but it works! Mostly

For some reason middle position on toggle switch is still just neck pickup instead of both mixed together.

I'm ok with this. I only use either the neck or the bridge pup, and if I'm not using the neck I roll the volume off and use the toggle as a kill switch.

Hey if it works.

So I went to a hang/jam thing tonight. My best friends house who is a bass player but has the whole set up so anybody can play. Everybody is vaxxed so fukn cool. It was fukn great. Beside me there were 2 other guitar players so I just played drums for the most part. One dude is a pedal reviewer so he had all manner of shit. Played a little jazz too. I can kinda fake it on drums.

First time hanging with peeps.

That must have felt amazing.

renfield

That's awesome.

The 3/5 of my band that is still in my band because they're not anti mask/vax shitheads are all inoculated (noc'd up?) so we've been practicing again. God damn it feels good.

mortlock

thats awesome. im about to resume soon. im fully vaxxed as of tomorrow. the drummer had covid back in november so i think he has natural immunity. the gtr/vox guy has not been vaxxed but says he will. im more of a risk to him than he is to me and he wants to jam so im going to do it.

Kudos for a pedal board where you've built half the pedals yourself!
Rock & Roll is background music for teenagers to fuck to.

Danny G

Thank you!

There'd be more home-builds but half the shit I build doesn't work haha grrrr

Have tried to build like 4 Orange Squeezers to replace the MXR CAE boost. None of em worked.

Will finally try my hand and building a Blues Driver clone. My current DIY modded version has slayed every other dirt box I've built.

The wah is modded to hell too \m/,

question for the people in bands who sell merch on line. what do you use? or do you use several different options? what is / has worked best?

Danny G

FINALLY have the new Presonus board fully up and running.

Linked it to Logic no prob but could not for the life of me get it to where you could actually HEAR any of the sound going through it on headphones, monitors or mains.

Read the manual. Searched some forums. Watched some videos. Printed out the addendum for Logic which didn't come with the manual.

What was never explained in any of these processes is you have to hit the USB button, then MAINS, then LINK to have it in stereo.

Bloody fucking hell.

I've been using Logic with various AIs for years and everything you just wrote is chinese to me

Danny G

I've been a caveman as far as recording technology so this has def been a weird process.

Finally started dabbling with the virtual instruments in Logic which has been a fun rabbit hole.

Record a basic track to a click and add a drummer. And an R&B horn section. And a Cuban percussion ensemble.

It sounds impressively good.
