Hardly. New OT on its way. Hopefully done by Wednesday but you know amp guys. Who knows about the Plush. Probably be a while on that one.

Cool. That'll be a blast to play, I'd imagine. Huge.  8)

RAGER

I hopefully get my Orange back today.

Got my Orange back. Man it sounds really good so far a bit cleaner. Not nasal at all. Had a bunch of stuff done. Caps, Svetlana EL34's, screen grid resistors, cleaned up a bunch of shitty wiring and of course new Mercury Magnetics OT.

Trying out this little doodad on my Les Paul. This little bar helps the angle on your middle four strings and keeps that pesky g string in tune better.....supposedly.

Pissy

Interesting.  Does it just kinda clamp on to the strings?

You running that Orange at 16ohms?   It'd be useful to see how it responds to different loads in terms of headroom.  I say that not knowing if you have 4, 8 and 16 ohm options.
Vinyls.   deal.

RAGER

Yes pretty much. The string tension holds it in place. Notice how after the nut there's no severe angle to the tuner?  That's what it's accomplishing so the strings, mainly the G, don't bind at the nut if you bend a lot which I do.

Since I'm
Using to 16 ohm cabs I'm running it at 8. With just one cab I do prefer 16. I don't use any dirt or overdrive with it. It's a bit cleaner now which I like. I prefer to use volume and just playing hard to get the sound I want.

It's got a 4,8,16 ohm impedance range.

Looks weird. Doesnt the tilt on the headstock give you enough angle?

RAGER

That's not the angle I'm referring to.

My #1 has staggered tuning posts. The 90's Strat with Sperzels. Damn fine shit. When Floyds came out they locked that shit down and then Eddie...

Not sure what the staggered's do but I never had a problem. Well, one problem, no "tinkle chimes" behind the nut.

Apparently thats one thing Ed gave up, or dis-liked?

RAGER

On the beginning of Runnin it sure sounds to me like behind the tunomatic Gibson bridge to my ears but probably the destroyer which would be the same concept/sound.

Gimme two clips and I can tell you

RAGER

I MIGHT be able to pick up my Plush n a couple days.

RAGER

I'll pick up my Plush tomorrow. I've never played it so it'll be like a new amp.

To cheer myself up I bought a new guitar last night online. One of those cheap ass Xavier GFS jobs. White Les copy with a Floyd Rose. If it's not to my liking I'll donate it to school of rock.

Sometimes cheap guitars are killer. My guitarist will go to his cheap samick fake les paul over his 80s gibson sg or his fender strats.
On a side note my drummer has/had covid. Ive havent jammed since last march because i knew he was not very responsible and his gf is a nurse. Him and my gtr guy have been doing the occasional 2 man jam. He (gtr) calls me the other day to tell me the drummer has covid and was about to show up to jam WITH A FEVER. He (gtr) called off the jam but wtf. Thats why im out for now.

Oh for fucks sake.

Roommates father has a form of leukemia which is flaring up again.

I get it, roommate gets it.

Roommate get it, roommates father will get it and will die.

Thought I'd try out the tremolo circuit on the Plush today. No pedal so.....

Had a 2.5 hour private master class on mixing today with a producer friend.

Good Lord. My brain still hurts.

I feel like a guerilla field commander who captured a tank, and knows at least how to make it go forward, turn, and shoot the gun at shit.

But it's time I learn how to properly operate and maintain a tank. Still digesting.

Man I don't have the patience for mixing/engineering at all. Then there's mastering. Gaaahhh!

I had to change up my cheap guitar order so now it'll be here on Monday. I didn't add a HSC at first. Ain't no way I'm having it shipped from Florida with out one.

Vinyls.   deal.

I actually really like it. Even through that hashed together cabinet. The spring reverb is nice too. Not sure I'll really use the tremolo. It's labeled vibrato but I guess they didn't know the difference in 1969. I'm using a Mr Black Super Extra Five Thousand for gain cuz it's super clean.

ATTN RAGER,

Just retrieved from my mailbox after not picking up for a couple days:

Muffin Man

Fresh out of storage. Dangit! forgot to throw in the white bic.

RAGER

I've heard those are nice reverbs. I'm real finicky about what how and where it's used. Hardly ever use it on guitar. Great for synths. I may have hooked up the Big Sky to guitar once or twice.
