The new Deja Vibe is sounding good especially with the fuzz into it. Not digging the RMC wah tones like I used to though, might try something different, preferably switchless.

that Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon wah looks killer dude! I hate my footswitch too, lemme know how you like it, I might switch up as well

here is a clip of the wah:

I have a Weeping Demon, it seems to work well on bass and guitar. It doesn't sound the same as other wahs (?) like Crybabies. Not sure how to explain it, I don't know that much about wahs anyway. But it's kind of a sleeper wah, IMO. Takes a minute to dial it in (look under the toe).

Will report. It's got all the bells and whistles. My RMC is sounding way too trebly these days for whatever reason no matter how much I tweak the knobs although to be fair the last time I used it for E tuned psych rock was a few years back with a different guitar and amp.

Lumpy

Based on what you just said, the Weeping Demon is a good wah to try. It seems very "throaty" to me.

The price is right and I generally use wah with my fuzz so the tone is hard to fuck up.

Hey, you should check out this tuning: CGCGCD.

Try exploring the fretboard on one or two strings while droning the others—it's practically impossible to sound bad!

You're welcome.

Just came across this thing today, it's got me really damn interested.  The potential of things you could arrange in this thing, and without having to unplug too much or really think too much.  But then again, maybe it's just not that useful?

Why the fuck did it take so long for someone to think of a patch bay for a pedal board?
Vinyls.   deal.

mortlock

try and get that thing on a plane and watch what happens.

Lumpy

There's been programmable switchers for a while now. Maybe more functional than this (how do you switch here? Unplugging and replugging cables?) Probably more expensive too.

scavenger plan A:

step 1: wait until GC has a used old patchbay for $29.  this piece of gear possesses a shitload of female panelmount 1/4" jacks for repurposing.

step 2: get out sharpie and draw arrows -n- shit if useful as-is, otherwise find a suitably sized candy tin or w/e as a case and bone out some of the 1/4" jacks.

step 3: get assload of 1/4"-1/4" male-male cables(fck 1/8" entirely)

step 4: hook up.

also, the more connections you make in a chain, the more noise it picks up

lumpy, just FYI and your mental pedal database, i saw an LSTR in the GC used gear for $119.

i also predict a huge crash in the pedal market leaving only the genuinely unique ones standing at these higher prices.
pedals are the one niche product where hand-work and custom stuff survives the price they ask.
However, the big boys are saturating the market with digital stuff since it cost pennies vs analog.
they are going to fuck themselves. there are so many pedal brands it is off the hook
i think behringer is a good example of the beginning of the crash with their $30 pedals that work

met a potential drummer for the band. craigslist find. we got a jam scheduled for next weekend. i hope this guy works out. he seems like everything we want the next guy to be.

First jam session with a bassist.  I finally don't have my feet planted on my Taurus Pedals 100% of the time - I'm unchained!  Also picked up an MIM Fender Precision.  Looks like lots of low end in my immediate future.   ;D

Did an interview with a local online music publication:

Story time!  I was at GC picking up some mics and looking at sound boards when some dude brings in a 5 foot long board, Mackie, in a real case, with a rack mount somethingorother.  I over hear him asking for $200.  I ask him Wha?! $200?! Yeah we are down sizing he says.  I can't even process how many channels and crap this thing has.  And I want it, I want to take it home, but where the fuck am I going to put it?  It wouldn't fit on the dining room table.  It's too fucking huge.  I don't ever want to record a symphony orchestra.  I could try selling it for a profit on clist?  no, walk away from it dogfood, just walk.  So, I walked away.  From 48 channels of stupidity.

too bad I don't need to mix the Cleveland orchestra either.

A while back I scored a Mackie 16 ch there for $300. It was one of the nice old school ones, just a straight 4-buss mixer.

mortlock

when is the 2x15 bass cab going to start being made again. it seems like no one makes them anymore.

Lumpy

Not sure, but I think bass speakers have advanced so that speaker size isn't a big factor anymore. People also don't want to haul big cabs (cars are smaller now, etc). So there's lots of 10 and 12 speaker cabs.

What about buying used?

liquidsmoke

Trace Elliot and Mesa both make 2x15s.
