Mr. Foxen

Reissue of one when that is how Fender made necks. They changed things for a reason.

I have a Japanese Fender bass that needs the truss rod adjusted, but you have to remove the neck to access it.

What the hell? Weird.

Yeah the truss rod access is at the butt end of the neck. Only half of the truss rod is visible when you pull off the pickguard. You have to remove the neck, or at least loosen it a bunch. Pain in the ass.

I've seen people route out a small access area on those. Might be worth pursuing? Or an aftermarket neck?
poop.

Wow, thanks dude... but I've got a guy here who will work on it for me. I think first of all, I'm gonna have him do a complete evaluation. Can this become a really good-playing bass? No? Then buh-bye. This guy works for a local bass builder, so I'm gonna pick his brain. Too cold right now (gotta take the subway there). Soon...

Thanks for letting me vent.

Instant Dan

Finally started writing music again. The riffs remind me of CoC's blind infused with Melvin's Stoner witch.

Going to just try and churn out as many as I can while I work on play leadings better before piecing it all together to show for auditioning.

the diddler

Played out of town shows with my main band last Fri & Sat, then had out of town practice on Sun. with the new band.  3 nights in a row out past midnight with the musics and the beers.  My old ass might be recovered by next week.  Maybe.

liquidsmoke

Lowered the pup and the tone is more clear but string clatter is still a factor. Don't really want to go heavier on strings though. I'll just live with it for now.

nice. i never would have made it to the out of town practice.

I finally figured out it was the Planet Waves cables that have been giving stati/hum as I switched to my old Monsters and axekisser and it was at an all-time low.

The Shocker

Have spent the whole day reading Ollie's ampstack blog.  Good stuff.

Wow. So, the JCM800 I sold to go to MDF is now my JCM800, again.

It was on ebay, and a buddy of mine bought it back for me... manly fucking tears were shed.

Was it that one with a BIN of $1100?

VOLVO)))

The tan faced one in Ohio, I didn't see the BIN. He got it for what I sold it for, 950$ shipped to my door.

I got asked to join a band playing bass. My first time playing bass in a band. I'm pretty excited to work with with some people actually interested in song writing plus it'll also be my first time singing in a band which will be the bigger transition. I've been listening to a lot of Free/Andy Fraser and working on my note choice. Overall I'm really looking forward to the change of pace and the challenge.

I don't think there are manly tears, but good on ya bro.  You have an awesome friend to do that for you.

Mr. Foxen

Just been speaking to Partridge Transformers current owner with a possible eye to buying a batch and stocking them for sale, and eventually making amps round.

So uhhh... My band broke up. On to the next, I guess.
